WAX

HOW LONG, OR SHORT, SHOULD MY HAIR BE FOR WAXING?

The hair should be at least 1/4-inch to 1/2-inch for best results. If you have coarse hair it should be closer to 1/2-inch for the first few waxes. Once the hair becomes finer it can be waxed at a shorter length. If your hair is longer, we recommend trimming the area before booking.
It may take up to three waxing treatments to achieve smooth skin due to the fact that hair grows in stages and all of your hair is never at the same stage. It is very important to avoid shaving between waxing appointments, as this will interrupt the process.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET MY WAXING TREATMENT?

Every four weeks. Regular waxing is essential. The skin will be less sensitive if waxing is done every 4 weeks. Over time, with regular waxing, the hair follicle will have less and less of a grip on the hair to be pulled and the hairs will come out more easily.
Another reason to wax frequently is that you may even experience less hair growth over time.

IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD DO BEFORE MY WAXING APPOINTMENT?

Yes. Refrain from taking a shower or bath immediately before the treatment. Soaking the hair will soften it, allowing it to break more easily and making waxing less effective. Make sure the hair is the appropriate length for waxing. Make sure that the area(s) to be waxed are clean.

There are certain medications and products that should not be taken or used if you plan to have a waxing treatment soon. Topical exfoliants used on the area to be waxed such as Retin-A, Renova, and hydroquinone, oral acne medications such as Accutane, blood-thinning medications, and topical/oral cortisone make the skin more sensitive and increase the likelihood of irritation or other complications. Please check with your doctor if you are unsure whether you should be waxed while on or using a medication.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER MY FIRST WAXING TREATMENT?

Hairless skin! Also, everyone's skin reacts differently to waxing treatments, but you can expect to have temporary redness and minor irritation for a day or two. Slight itchiness may be experienced as the hair grows out. Proper post-wax care will alleviate these symptoms quickly.
If you’re a bride or attending a special occasion, we recommend receiving waxing services a month before your special day to see how your skin reacts. If everything is fine, reschedule another wax a few days before.

WILL I GET INGROWN HAIRS?

It's possible.
Waxing removes the entire hair, root and all, from the follicle. Your skin naturally hardens and thickens over the area that was waxed so it is important to keep that area gently exfoliated. Use a gentle scrub in that area 2 days after waxing and continue to exfoliate 1 to 2 times a week thereafter. Try to wear loose-fitting clothes for a few days after to give your skin a chance to breathe and reduce moisture.
Try to avoid heavy exercise that will increase perspiration and chaffing for about 24-48 hours after waxing.

CAN I SHAVE BETWEEN WAXING APPOINTMENTS?

No. Please do not shave between waxing appointments! It disrupts the hair growth cycle resulting in more hair at your next appointment.

WHAT'S A BRAZILIAN WAX?

A Brazilian wax is the removal of all of the pubic hair, front and back, using wax. Some people opt to have a small shape left in the hair.

WHAT KIND OF WAX DO YOU USE?

We use soft wax, hard wax and wax rollers for sensitive skin.

IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT FOR WAX?

We will wax clients of any age, but if you are younger than 18 we do require a parent to accompany you to sign our waxing consent form.

LASH EXTENSIONS

WHAT ARE EYELASH EXTENSIONS?

Eyelash Extensions lengthens and thickens your own natural eyelashes. Lash Extensions are single strands of synthetic eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. They are applied to each individual natural eyelash one by one for a natural, beautiful and full look. Eyelash Extensions are perfect for day to day wear. We never use lash strips or clusters.

We use only top-tier lashes made of silk or synthetic mink & offer a full range from classic and natural to full fluffy volume. Our stylists are trained to keep the integrity of your natural lashes strong and beautiful.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CLASSIC VS VOLUME?

Classic is a method where 1 lash extensions is applied to 1 natural lash. Classic lashes are perfect for clients who already have a lot of lashes but want to add more length or clients who simply just want a more natural look.

Volume lashes are also know as Russian Volume. Multiple light-weight lash extensions are applied to one single natural eyelash. When 2 extensions are applied to one natural lashes, this is described as 2D. If 3 extensions are applied to one natural eyelash, then this is described as 3D, etc. As this method requires using very thin and light weight lashes, lashes appear lighter, fluffier and gives the client a fuller look. This method is perfect for clients who don't have a lot of lashes, have sparse lashes, bald spots or just want a more dramatic look.

HOW LONG DO EYELASH EXTENSIONS LAST?

All hair on your body follows a specific growth cycle and will grow to a specific length before shedding. Because each individual eyelash is in its very own growth cycle, it is perfectly normal to lose a few natural eyelashes everyday. Your individual eyelash cycle, combined with how well you care for the eyelash extensions will determine how long they last. With proper care and maintenance you should get a fill every 2-3 weeks.

WHAT IS THE APPLICATION PROCESS?

The process should be relaxing in nature. After you lie down on the table, we will apply a soothing gel pad to cover your lower lashes during application. You then relax with your eyes closed. Many clients fall asleep during the procedure.

HOW LONG DOES THE APPLICATION TAKE?

The average full-set of eyelash extensions takes approximately 2 hours. The average maintenance appointment for touchups/fills takes 1 hour.

IS IT SAFE FOR MY EYES?

Eyelash extensions, when properly applied, are completely safe. The extensions are applied with a special adhesive that is similar to what is used in the medical field for suture-less stitches.

+ WHAT KIND OF ADHESIVE DO YOU USE?

The type of adhesive we use for lash extension application is called cyanoacrylate.

+ WILL EYELASH EXTENSIONS DAMAGE MY LASHES?

When eyelash extensions are properly applied, they will not damage your natural eyelashes. Your natural lashes are always shedding and cycling back, the extensions should simply fall off with yours. The extensions themselves do not cause your lashes to fall out or become damaged if applied properly.

+ WHAT DO EYELASH EXTENSIONS LOOK LIKE WHEN APPLIED?

They are literally an extension of your eyelashes only longer, thicker, with a darker lash line.

+ HOW DO I CARE FOR THEM?

The more meticulous you are about caring for your eyelash extensions, the longer you can expect them to last.

Use ONLY water based and OIL-FREE products around your eye area, including mascara and makeup remover. Oil breaks down the adhesive bond. Creams and serums should be applied sparingly, and no closer to than the orbital bone. Anything that hasn't absorbed after 2 minutes can be blotted with a tissue or blotting paper.

Avoid waterproof mascara. If you can, it is better not to use any mascara at all as wearing mascara regularly will decrease the time between touch-up appointments.

Always wash your eyelashes with a gentle foamy cleanser, like our Ritual Lash Cleanser applied gently with your spoolie and wash with water every daily. Remember, eyelashes are meant to protect our eyes from debris, dirt and dust.

Dry thoroughly by blotting (not rubbing) with a towel or blow drying on a cool setting, then spin through with a clean mascara wand.

Avoid using cotton swabs or pads that will leave lint and catch on your extensions.

Avoid using an eyelash curler as it creates a kink in your eyelash extensions, hence reducing the life of your extensions.

Do not rub, pick, twist or pull at your lashes or eyelash extensions. If you would like them removed, please contact us.

If you can, sleep on your back to avoid the risk of lashes rubbing against your pillow.

Be gentle with your lashes. How you care for eyelash extensions will directly affect the look of your lashes as well as the length of time between touch-up appointments.

If you experience any pain, redness or irritation, contact us immediately.

CAN I WEAR MASCARA?

It is not recommended to wear mascara over the eyelash extensions as it can weaken the bond of the adhesive and cause premature loss of the extensions. However, you may wear water-based, non waterproof mascara on the lower lashes, being careful when applying and removing them.

CAN I USE LASH CURLERS?

Eyelash extensions do not require additional curling. If you are looking for more curl, ask lash artist to apply a curlier lash.

WHAT TYPE OF LASHES DO YOU USE?

We stock an extremely wide selection of lash lengths, thickness, and curl shapes. This variety ensures you the best look for your eyes, and not just the most popular sizes. We use 100% polyester fiber extensions, otherwise knows as synthetic mink and silk.

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT:

If you use water proof mascara, avoid using it 2-3 days before your appointment. The film it leaves on your lashes may prevent the extensions from adhering correctly. Arrive to your appointment with dry, clean lashes and makeup. The more time your artist has the spend cleaning your lashes, the less time you have for the application - less lashes applied.

AIRBRUSH TANNING TIPS & PREPARATION*

Shave, Wax, Pluck

Wax, shave, pluck 24 hours prior to spray tanning. Doing these too close to your spray tan session may cause solution to get caught in your pores.

Manicure/Pedicure

Have a mani/pedi before your spray. Make sure you wash off any oils or lotions they put on you as they will act as a barrier against the solution.

Exfoliate

Exfoliate. Use an exfoliant that is great at 2 jobs: scrubbing off the dead skin cells and cleaning any oils or impurities to leave the skin completely bare and naked.

What to Wear During

During your spray tan you can wear a bathing suit, underwear and/or bra or nude. Whatever you wear you will have those tan lines.

AFTERCARE*

SHOWERING

Once you are ready to shower it is important NOT to use a heavy soap. The residue could strip and fade the tan unevenly.  We always suggest to do a thorough rinse and only soap in the necessary areas.

MOISTURIZE

Moisturize right when you get out of the shower. Use a nice thick moisturizer that doesn’t contain any heavy oils. We really like Cetaphil Moisturizing CREAM in the tub. Works great!

HYDRATE

Drink plenty of water. Although it doesn’t seem necessary when spray tanning it is so important to keep your skin hydrated. This will ensure a longer tan that will fade evenly.

WHAT TO WEAR AFTER

After your spray tan put loose fitting clothing and sandals.
